OUR STORY

Evolve Boxing is a club rich in knowledge and extensive experience, anchored by the esteemed Richard (Dickie) Fleetwood, who is well-known for his illustrious career as both an amateur and professional boxer that spanned from 1950 to 1961. Following his remarkable boxing career, Dickie transitioned into a prominent and successful coaching role in the Wellington area. Dickie dedicated himself to sharing his deep expertise and unwavering passion for the sport with both his children and grandchildren.

In 2001, Dickies son Richard (Richie) Fleetwood, together with Erwin Tooby, started Kapiti Boxing Club, joined not long after by Wayne Spratt and Keith Bullock, with the noble intention of passing on their valuable knowledge and love for boxing to the next generation.

For over 20 years, with the help of many Coaches, Committee Members, and supporters, Kapiti Boxing Club has had many successes. Looking to the future of boxing on the Kapiti Coast, we are excited to launch Evolve Boxing.

This innovative partnership with Kapiti Boxing Club aims to provide more focused and tailored support for our community, enabling generations to learn and share the invaluable skills and rich traditions passed down from Dickie Fleetwood and other coaches.
