The Fleetwood legacy.
Evolve Boxing is a club rich in knowledge and experience, anchored by the esteemed Richard 'Dickie' Fleetwood, well known for an illustrious career as both an amateur and professional boxer spanning 1950 to 1961. Following his boxing career, Dickie became a prominent coach in the Wellington area, dedicating himself to sharing his expertise and passion with his children and grandchildren.
In 2001, Dickie's son Richard 'Richie' Fleetwood, together with Erwin Tooby, joined not long after by Wayne Spratt and Keith Bullock, started Kapiti Boxing Club, to pass their knowledge and love for boxing on to the next generation.
For over 20 years, with the help of many coaches, committee members and supporters, Kapiti Boxing Club has had many successes. Looking to the future of boxing on the Coast, we launched Evolve Boxing, an innovative partnership that provides more focused, tailored support so generations can learn and share the invaluable skills and traditions passed down from Dickie Fleetwood and other coaches.
